Kishore Butani
Head of Program, Policy & Partnerships at the Universal Carbon Registry (UCR) and Universal Water Registry (UWR).
Kishore Butani is a distinguished Environmental Engineer with an M.S. and B.E. in Civil Engineering, boasting over two decades of experience. As Head of Program, Policy & Partnerships at the Universal Carbon Registry (UCR) and Universal Water Registry (UWR), he's been instrumental in their rapid growth. UCR is now India's largest voluntary carbon standard and registry, having issued over 70 million credits to NGOs, corporates, and green projects globally.
Mr. Butani's expertise spans carbon trading, particularly in Indian industrial sectors. He's a crypto-carbon maximalist, leading groundbreaking initiatives like the world's first water credits program. UCR also pioneers carbon token plays in the blockchain ecosystem.

ETSs and carbon taxes, generated nearly USD 100 billion in revenue in 2022. Likewise, the voluntary carbon market stands at an annual value of approximately USD 2 billion.
Recent advancements related to Article 6 of the Paris Agreement indicate a potential route for international carbon markets. However, additional efforts are required to strengthen countries' administrative capacity for deeper engagement.
In 2023, the Indian government has set forth plans to launch the Indian Carbon Market (ICM). This endeavour involves establishing a national framework with the primary objective of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by pricing them through the trading of Carbon Credit Certificates

How will the Bootcamp be conducted?All the sessions and activities will be conducted online. You will use online platforms like Zoom, WhatsApp and Slack to attend lectures, engage with your peers, educators and organizers, and complete your assignments. The participants are hence requested to have a stable internet connection and a device (Tablet, Laptop) for participating in the program. All the necessary course details, links and resources required for the duration of the Bootcamp will be shared with you on your email id and respective WhatsApp ground.

How will we communicate after registration?Once you have registered, you will receive an email confirming your registration. Soon we will share a virtual 'Welcome Kit' with you. This Welcome Kit will have all the details and necessary links you will need during the Bootcamp. Besides this, you will receive notifications and reminders for the Zoom event on your email id.
