Out of the 430 million tons of plastic waste generated globally each year, only 9% is recycled, and another 22% is improperly managed. What is Plastic Credit?
Plastic credits are a market-based mechanism designed to incentivize and finance the reduction of plastic waste.
Similar to carbon credits, plastic credits are issued to organizations or projects that prevent, reduce, or recycle plastic waste.
These credits can then be bought by companies seeking to offset their plastic footprint, enabling them to meet sustainability goals or regulatory requirements.
The Breaking the Plastic Wave report projects a $40 billion funding shortfall for financing the collection and management of municipal plastic waste by 2040. Plastic credits can help alleviate this challenge by providing necessary financial support.

What have we planned for you?
Implementing plastic credits and achieving sustainability goals requires careful planning over a multi-year period. Similar to ESG roadmaps, sustainability strategies, or Net Zero plans, plastic credit initiatives must be strategically planned and executed. As part of this initiative, short-term projects should be identified and aligned with the overall strategy to contribute to long-term sustainability objectives.
To help your company or your client's company develop and evolve their plastic credit strategies, it is essential to have a deep understanding of plastic credit actions, align with best practices, and tailor approaches to each client's specific context. The agenda of this workshop is to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to build a robust plastic credit strategy for your organization or your client's organization.
Are you wondering if this is meant for you?
If you're involved in industries with significant plastic usage, such as packaging, consumer goods, or manufacturing, or if your business faces challenges related to plastic waste management, then this workshop is tailored for you. Whether you're a sustainability manager, environmental consultant, or business leader, navigating the complexities of plastic credits and reporting, our workshop equips you with the knowledge and tools needed to succeed. Join us to gain clarity, confidence, and actionable insights into plastic credit implementation.
