Infosys Limited is a global leader in consulting, technology, and next-generation digital services headquartered in India. The company is widely recognized for its strong focus on talent development, environmental stewardship, and delivering innovative solutions to enterprises worldwide.
In recent years, Infosys has continued to strengthen its climatic commitments, with targets becoming increasingly ambitious and in-alignment with the global sustainability standards.
THE CLIMATE POSITIVITY SHIFT:

1. Climate Milestone Achieved:
Infosys had set a carbon-neutral target that a decade ago, seemed unattainable. Yet through continuous innovation and progressive policy changes, the company successfully achieved carbon neutrality in fiscal 2020 a remarkable 30 years ahead of the timelines set by the Paris Agreement.
2. SBTi Targets & Temperature Alignments:
Infosys Limited commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 12.5% by FY2025 and 37.5% by FY2035 from a FY2020 base year.
Infosys Limited also commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 12.5% by FY2025 and 37.5% by FY2035 from a FY2020 base year.
Temperature Alignment: 1.5°C pathway for Scope 1 and 2 emissions (as validated by SBTi)
3. Science-Based Practices adopted by Infosys
Scope 1
Better operational efficiency of Diesel Generator sets
Better management of fugitive emissions from HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) units
Transition to Electric Vehicles (EVs) for company-owned vehicles
Scope 2
Design and build or lease new offices with low Energy Performance Index (EPI)
Retrofit old buildings to improve EPI
Source renewable power
Scope 3
Include a hybrid working model
Promote EVs among employees
Promote carpooling, public transport, and low to zero-emission modes of commute among employees
Optimize business travel
Adopt a life cycle approach for capital

Sustainability Highlights
29.7 million sq.ft. of LEED Platinum and GRIHA 5-star green building space
Infosys has developed one of the largest portfolios of high-performance, ultra-green buildings in the world with nearly 30 million sq.ft. which is certified at the highest levels (LEED Platinum and GRIHA 5-star).These certifications mean the buildings meet strict global (LEED) and Indian (GRIHA) standards for energy efficiency, sustainable materials, water conservation, indoor air quality, and site selection.
Notably, Infosys does this for both new construction and retrofits of older buildings using integrated, energy-optimized designs and deeply sustainable operations that go beyond usual industry practice
60 MW of installed solar PV capacity
Infosys has installed a total of 60 megawatts (MW) of solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity across its campuses in India. This includes large off-site solar plants (like the 40 MW solar farm in Sira, Karnataka) as well as extensive rooftop and ground-mounted panels on office buildings.
All solar installations are centrally monitored for real-time efficiency using Infosys-developed digital platforms, helping Infosys meet major portions of its energy needs directly from the sun
Super-efficient buildings with industry-leading energy performance
Methods include high-performance building envelopes, advanced lighting and HVAC systems, maximum daylighting, digital controls, predictive diagnostics, and granular energy monitoring for continuous optimization.
Innovation like radiant cooling systems in key campuses has cut energy bills by up to 38% compared to the conventional designs, proving that high savings and high comfort are compatible.
37.5 mn sq.ft. of smart connected spaces buildings
This includes implementing technologies like radiant cooling, daylighting, and energy-efficient retrofits to reduce energy consumption and improve operational efficiency. The command center analyzes data on energy consumption, building operations, and other factors to optimize resource usage and ensure operational excellence.
77.7% of total electricity across India campuses sourced from renewable energy
CONCLUSION
On the basis of our verification methodology for reasonable level of assurance and the evidence we obtained, the Company’s “Declaration of achievement to carbon neutrality” as declared in Carbon Neutrality Report for Financial Year – 2025 has been prepared in all material respects, in line with the defined criteria i.e. “ISO 14068-1: Climate change management Transition to net zero Part 1- Carbon neutrality". Some data inaccuracies identified during the verification process were found to be attributable to transcription, interpretation and aggregation errors and the errors have been corrected. The GHG emissions from the Infosys Limited facilities under operational control (owned and leased offices) are Carbon Neutral for specified period 01st April 2024 to 31st March 2025.
